Theo
and Co. Pizzeria has always been a popular spot in Vic Park area – the place is
constantly super packed inside with a long queue outside so I went there with
my housemates to see if it’s worth the hype.
We arrived at 5ish in the evening just to avoid the peak-hour crowd and were seated immediately. Thank god we didn’t have to wait for a whole hour for this.
It’s a casual restaurant full of long tables and loud music playing in the background. A great place to chill, hang out and eat like a beast with your friends.
We wanted
to try out more flavours without getting too stuffed so we went half and half
for one of the two savoury pizzas. Of course, we also ordered a dessert pizza
as they are known for their delicious sweet treat too.
Fremantle
high voltage sardines (half) – Fresh sardines layered on top of fire
roasted red capsicum sauce, slow cooked onions, finished off with a tangy mayo
& balsamic glaze
Was not keen for this but I was wrong. The sardine went really well with the pizza dough, tangy mayo and balsamic vinegar. Many flavours in one pizza but it was not overwhelming nor heavy at all.

Shrimp
on the Barbie (half) – grilled BBQ prawns coated in herbs and spices on
top of red onions, cooked slowly & finished off with dollops of fresh
creamy lemon sauce
Shrimp
was bouncy and fresh, plus that creamy lemon sauce further complemented the
flavour. Pretty good but nothing too memorable either.
Smoked
BBQ short ribs pizza (AUD$19.50) – beef short ribs rubbed with a dry mix of
secret spices slow roasted for hours. The meat is pulled apart, placed on top
of mozzarella, served with a side of apple and cabbage slaw.
So this pizza came with a food cover that was filled with smoke and a side of apple and cabbage slaw. The waiter even reminded us to get our cameras and phones ready as it’s a perfect photo opportunity when the covered is lifted up. Honestly it was unnecessary as there’s not much visual effect going on. Getting back to the pizza, the meat had a nice smokey flavour but was a little too dry and burnt. Luckily it was saved by the sweet and sour slaw.

Blondie
(AUD$19.00) – walnuts, scorched honeycomb, choc bits with a scoop of vanilla
ice cream, drizzled with chocolate sauce & honey
This
dessert pizza looked crazily tempting and it’s every dessert lover’s ultimate
dream. This pizza was more filling than the other pizzas for the night with
that chewy and fluffy cake layer on top. We all loved that hot and cold
contrast of fresh-off-the-oven dough and ice cream as well as that crunchiness
from the honeycomb. Simply a foodgasm and a very awesome ending to the meal.
The
savoury pizzas were not bad but not my favourite as their dough was quite bland
and just not chewy enough. Dessert is a must and trust me, it’s a crime not to
give their sweet pizzas a try if you are there.
