Was
here for their Christmas festive set a couple months ago and I knew I had to
come back for their brunch. Priced at $278 per person, customers can enjoy an
all you can eat meal from a menu of nearly 20 tapas for 2 hours in the 11:30 –
15:30 time slot. What a deal!!
So
my friend and I were here to take up the challenge on a Sunday afternoon. We
decided to conquer the whole menu 2 to 3 tapas at a time and had some classic
egg dishes to start with.
Before
I forget, OM’s signature cocktail was exceptionally photogenic and yummy so we
had 1 to share.
Basque cod scrambed eggs was perfectly cooked to fluffy and moist, if only there were more cod pieces.
Chorizo
broken egg looked simple but it’s actually very tasty. The saltiness of chorizo
was balanced by the gooey egg yolk with the potato hash adding some crispy
texture to the dish.
Spanish
omelette was a pretty standard one that was cut into bite size. Very thoughtful
since everyone would want to have a taste of everything.
Pipirrana
grilled sardines was just refreshing and yummy. Sad that I couldn’t have
another bite since there were many more to try.
Cod
a la muselina was a must order! Tender cod topped with flavoursome cream sauce
and fried garlic on crispy toast was simply da BOMB.
Piquillo
cod brandada tasted surprisingly good despite the uncommon presentation. Mashed
potato and piquillo pepper went well together even though the cod flavour was
missing.
Wasabi
squid bao was not bad and the heat from wasabi was rather mild. Great for
people who are not too keen on wasabi like me.
Nicely
fried to golden brown, the chicken and cheese croquetas were crispy without
being too oily. The cheese flavour was more pronounced than expected too.
Another
recommended item on the menu was pork and cheese rolls. They were well executed
like the croquetas and look at the oozing
cheese omg!
Have
had their seafood paella before but this all you can eat version comes in a
smaller portion considered the amount of food we had to devour. Would have been
better if it was served on a mini skillet for a more appealing presentation
though.
I
was totally defeated after wolfing down all these dishes and we had to move on
to the desserts. Oh no am I really getting that old (yes you are granny J, lol)?
Their
churros dusted with cinnamon sugar was one of the best ones in Hong Kong. The crunchy
outer layer and slightly chewy centre made me wanted more and it would have
been unbeatable if served with some chocolate sauce.
Crème
catalan, the Spanish version of crème brulee, didn’t disappoint. The curtard that
melted in the mouth was pleasantly delectable but I still liked the churros
better.
Fresh
fruits salad made a healthy and sweet ending to the meal. They were all so
fresh and refreshing that I wish I could have fruits of this quality all the
time.
Remarkably
reasonably priced with free flow tapas of such quality but it’s best enjoyed
with at least 2 to 3 companions so you can try out every single dish on the
menu.
