Ho
Ho Ho! It’s only 3 more days to the best festival of the year and I have
already had my very first Xmas dinner at Brick Lane the night before. Priced at
only $388 per person, it’s a fulfilling and quality festive set that kept my
tummy happy without hurting the wallet.
Their
homey and cozy décor made a great place to hang out with friends. And don’t
forget to explore the outdoor seating area with awesome night views!
Here’s the 4-course dinner set menu and Brick Lane has got everything from salad to dessert covered.
My
friend and I picked different salads and mains so we could try out more items.
How smart and greedy we were :p
Beet
salad with spinach, egg and pistachios was a healthy and light start for the
night. The combination might seem ordinary but the flavours worked well
together, only if the ingredients are more evenly mixed.
Salmon Caesar salad can never go wrong and BL’s version was definitely better than expected. Every single piece of Romaine lettuce was crisp, chilled and coated with flavourful dressing. Topped with fatty smoked salmon, bacon bits and grated parmesan cheese, it was another great starter that made us ask for more.
That
rich and creamy Lobster Bisque was a nice soup to warm us up after having the
salads. They got a generous portion of bouncy lobster chunks in it too.
Turkey breast with stuffing and trimmings – Pancetta sautéed asparagus, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce
There
is nothing better and heartier than having turkey for Christmas! The plating
was appealing and everything was just on point, especially that chestnut paste
with chopped chestnuts. Make sure you finish the turkey breast when it’s still
warm or it dries out pretty quickly.
Iberico pork rack – potatoes au gratin, vegetables
Yet
another mouthwatering main dish with a simple and elegant presentation. Pan
fried to golden brown on the outside and pinkish inside, that thick cut pork
chop was a must-order for pork cravers. The slightly sour apple sauce
harmonized the oiliness of the pork so you won’t feel guilty even devouring the
whole thing. The sides were well executed too so I was constantly having a hard
time deciding what to eat next.
Biscotti
and chocolate dip as dessert was not bad but would have been better if it was
replaced by a brownie or cheesecake slice. The biscotti tasted perfectly fine
with the chocolate sauce but it was a bit hard. Probably should have ordered a
coffee or tea to go with this.
Recommended
to people on a budget who still want to enjoy an authentic festive dinner.
